December 15, 1951 ~ May 3, 2024 (age 72)It is with deep sadness and heartbreak that I bring this devestating news to you all of the passing of our dear Brother and friend.

Russ KG0BK aka. “Rusty Balloons”, has gone home to be with the Lord. Russ is a loyal founding member of the Fusion Net. As one of our Co-Net Control Operators KG0BK would bring us the weekly Crackerjack facts, and so much more. Russ was a true pleasure to have around and a true friend, Russ you will be missed, I love you brother, 73 

Russell Bickle Obituary

Russell Fredrick Bickle, 72, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at his home.  He was born on December 15, 1951, in Red Oak, the son of Rolland and Elinor (Carlson) Bickle.  He was raised and educated in the Red Oak area, graduating from Red Oak High School in 1970. Following graduation, Russell served with the 1168th Transportation Company in Red Oak. 

Russell attended tech school and worked for many years as a mechanic at Larson Suzuki in Red Oak. He also worked as a station engineer for KCSI Radio and at Kum & Go, both in Red Oak. After moving to this area, Russell worked at Town Square media in Dubuque. Russell moved to Manchester in 2021.

Russell served as a member of the Red Oak City Council. He was a 49 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include his son Russell “R.J.”(Emily) Bickle of Dubuque; his step-son, Adam ( Christina White) Rennison of Manchester; brother, Rick Bickle of Council Bluffs; and several grandchildren.
